Gets to his door, but he can't find the key "Why the hell does this always happen to me? I always end up so alone," he says to himself He says, "Who am I?" Yeah, he says, "Who am I?" I think it's time that you know Hey, get the keys, get the car Imma drive away Think I know who I am It's a brand new day And if I don't, if I don't, if I don't, Take me home He's got a knife in his chest! (Uh huh) She says, "Stop complaining, 'cause I got one too. It hurts the same as it did when it was new" And so we say, "Who am I?" Yeah, we say, "Who am I?" I think it's time, don't you I think it's time, don't you I think it's time that you know Hey, get the keys, get the car Imma drive away Think I know who I am It's a brand new day And if I don't, if I don't, if I don't, Take me home If I don't, if I don't, if I don't, Take me home

Astronaut 04:11
Yesterday I found myself again Underneath a box of mini wheat thins If only it were as easy as that All these petty thoughts would be a thing of the past I will hit the sun in the break of day If I start building Oklahoma would it make it OK? You say you're only happy once in a blue moon I thought: that makes me an astronaut I get scared of the cops Doesn't mean that I should go and hit them with rocks Oh, what's got you down What's got you down And don't say I don't know There is a definite frown upon your face Is it something this music could erase? I will hit the sun in the break of day If I start building Oklahoma would it make it OK? You say you're only happy once in a blue moon I thought: that makes me an astronaut

I'm Not 07:35
Hazards blink Falling in and out of sync She's just screaming, "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay" If I don't make it out of here Tell my son, "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay" Maybe my intentions left indentions in the window Frame of mind your own business time, nine to five Feeling empty for the first time in a long time Let the love shine Spread my hands wide Do you act kind? 'Cause I'm not what you think I am I'm just the smallest part of one big plan I think I can, I think I can Shaking keys Shiny hands grasping out in the night I'm saying, "It's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright" I can't even say sorry anymore Please say it's gonna be alright, say it's gonna be (Alright) Nothing satisfies me like a lie So please just say it one more time (Alright) Here we are together at the end I thought I would call you my friend 'But I'm not what you think I am I'm just the smallest part of one big plan I think I can, I think I can One by one The days, they blur together And if I don't stop this It will be like this forever Take me to the promised land! If you reach out, I'll grab your hand! If I could have it back All that time I wasted getting on track If I go my own way What would you say? What would you say? I take two steps forward, back one Two steps forward, back one Two steps forward, back one Two steps forward, back one... One step forward, back one One step forward, back one One step forward, back one One step forward, back one But I'm not, what you-

When the final judge comes around And reads the names all to the town It makes me feel like they somehow got it wrong I didn't know what to say Like did you even watch us play? It makes me feel like I'm misunderstood But I'm like Why did you pay the ticket price? I'm like no, are we ever coming back We pack our stuff into the cars And start to drive away in ours It makes me feel like we're just giving up But when I'm finally all alone I sing throughout my empty home It makes me feel alive once again But I'm like Why did you pay the ticket price? I'm like no, are we ever coming back

Do you ever get tired of the everyday? Take your to-do list and throw it away Got lots of plans and responsibilities I say get in the car and drive away Tell all the people who want to stay If I don't come back tomorrow, let me waste away Pack your bags, we'll leave today If I don't come back tomorrow, let me waste... I don't even know the kind of medicine You take for ambition God, they better let us in Far away from all the terrorists I beg your pardon Oh! They better let me go A taste of exotic Spend one night in Mexico Don't know what my friends are gonna say It's funny how things'll change You wanna quit your job Now everybody thinks your insane Unless you're actually crazy In that case, I guess it's okay Tell all the people who want to stay If I don't come back tomorrow, let me waste away Pack your bags, we'll leave today If I don't come back tomorrow, let me waste... I don't even know the kind of medicine You take for ambition God, they better let us in Far away from all the terrorists

Spitfire 04:47
I hope that when we dance Video cameras cease to exists The music comes and drifts away To shaking hips and offbeat clapping Let me jump out of my skin I love my two left feet They told me all the things that I could never be And so I lived my life that way And look at how I am today I could sing forever I ran away and joined a band There are certain things you'll never understand When I get tired, I spit fire out of my hands When he gets excited, he turns the light out and goes to bed When I get better, I'll write songs for soda cans When he gets my letter, I don't think he'll understand I live in some kind of crazy nation Of myriads and constellations Man, I never really thought about How much I wanted to scream and shout It's time to change nothing In the time it takes to tie your shoes I could run a mile or two The party's over, it's time to go home The safest place to drink alone I'm not ready for bed! I ran away and joined a band There are certain things you'll never understand When I get tired, I spit fire out of my hands When he gets excited, he turns the light out and goes to bed When I get better, I'll write songs for soda cans When he gets my letter, I don't think he'll understand When parents get drunk again But it's not cool because they can It's not their fault is what I say It takes me back to yesterday My friends got mad because they came And nothing's here to tempt their fate Are you more than just a sum Of what your body depends on? All I've ever wanted was a restless body and a restless mind So I change my shape to fit the crime And it's not my fault, is what I say It takes me back to yesterday When parents get drunk again But it's not cool because they can It's not their fault is what I say It takes me back to yesterday My friends got mad because they came And nothing's here to tempt their fate Are you more than just a sum Of what your body depends on? All I've ever wanted was a restless body and a restless mind So I change my shape to fit the crime And it's not my fault, is what I say It takes me back to yesterday

I show up to places when I want I'm exercising my first amendment right To believe what I believe in You should believe in what you believe in So tell me what's wrong with taking my sweet time Living on a self-made minefield If you call me a deadbeat That makes you a hypocrite 'Cause I'm fine fine fine fine fine fine fine f-fine I got the time time time time time time time Tttttime is a-running out I've been waiting for so long but I can't figure it out And it makes me want to shout Tttttime is a loaded gun And I know I couldn't take it if I hurt anyone But now our time is up Give me all your minutes All your seconds All your days And if I can't be satified, I won't be afraid to take up all the years Alone with my thought You gotta bbbbreak down all these clocks I'm on fire And I feel like I could tackle my procrastin-ary habits I'm on fire Be my CO2 'Cause I'm fine fine fine fine fine fine fine f-fine I got the time time time time time time time Tttttime is a-running out I've been waiting for so long but I can't figure it out And it makes me want to shout Tttttime is a loaded gun And I know I couldn't take it if I hurt anyone But now our time is up

Drifting away... Drifting away... Drifting away... Drifting away... (There were so many things that I wanted to say, but I just ran out of time)

(Function) Woke up today Feeling great Hit my head on the door Cursed and swore Oh, sure It left a mark on my face Can't kill my vibe Hop inside of my mind I set my tempo to the beating of the back seat sub of my car You're looking up at me But I'm pretty sure you're looking down Condescending with a frown Oh, how do you do it? Woman You talk to me like I'm crazy You're thinking that it could change me But all in all that depends So here we go again Baby You talk to me like you're righteous You're thinking that I won't fight this I really though we were friends So here we go again The fact that Just a regular guy Couldn't speak my mind Without being scrutinized bums me out I turn the knob on my dashboard I'm gonna blast my Katy Perry 'till you shut up and leave me alone What we have, What we used to have Used to work But now I'm doing all the work Turned my head, I said Woman You talk to me like I'm crazy You're thinking that it could change me But all in all that depends So here we go again Baby You talk to me like you're righteous You're thinking that I won't fight this I really though we were friends So here we go again (Don't tell me how to live my life) Woman You talk to me like I'm crazy You're thinking that it could change me But all in all that depends So here we go again Baby You talk to me like you're righteous You're thinking that I won't fight this I really though we were friends So here we go again

Upswingin' 04:02
Under the light of the moon Your face shines like a thousand stars And it's okay to be nervous You gotta be nervous tonight So here we go Calling out into the night Nothing to do all day Nothing to say If you come upswingin' with me Everybody's dancing all night long We're all moving to the beat of the song Get up, c'mon, baby dance with me Everybody's dancing all night long Flashes of blue In the corner of my eye It's time to go, we'll both be safe If you come upswingin' with me Everybody's dancing all night long We're all moving to the beat of the song Get up, c'mon, baby dance with me Everybody's dancing all night long (One, two, one two three four) Everybody's dancing all night long We're all moving to the beat of the song Get up, c'mon, baby dance with me Everybody's dancing all night long

about

"When I get better, I'll write songs for soda cans". It's a line that takes aim at the definition of success in the music industry, and it's just as biting today as it was when "Spitfire" was first demoed last year. This debut effort from The Indefinite is a collection of honest, homemade indie-rock with a lovable teenage angst.
